This quilt has been a long time in the making. The quilt top hang over my office door for a good 6 months before I got around to starting to quilt it. I thought cathedral windows would look neat, but somehow I just couldn’t get them to look good so I hung the quilt back up on the office door, and there it has been hanging for a really long time.

However, one of my motto’s is “Better done than perfect” so this January it did get finished along with a bunch of other projects. I am really happy with the colors I chose, and I love how the blush pink and the camouflage-like greens work together. Next time I do an Irish Chain quilt with solid fabric, I will send it to my fabulous long-armer to complete. I think my free motion skills are OK, but I do better with free motion fillers than with something that is supposed to look really regular, like foldedthese Cathedral windows.

Enough complaining however. I LOVE how soft this quilt turned out. I used Cotton Couture from Michael Miller Fabrics and the higher quality weave in this fabric line really makes a difference.

The fabric colors I used were:

Grass (green)

Loden (green)

Herb (green)

Blossom (pink)

Charcoal (dark gray)

Do you always quilt your own quilts, or do you decide on a project by project basis whether to quilt yourself or send it out to a pro?

Happy Stitching!
