This hand-dyed fabric thing could turn out to be a bit of an obsession.
It is so fun to make your own fabric, and not really that difficult. The first time I was very cautious and meticulous and worried that I was doing everything right. But now, four batches later, I feel like I am getting the hang of the procedure.
Last night I made a gradation of purple fabric from a Dharma Trading Company pigment called Hydragea, and the night before that I dyed 7 yards of dark gray fabric for a background along with the four periwinkle blues you can see in the picture.
Doesn’t this make you want to try dying your own fabric?
