I am sooooo far behind on all quilting and craft projects this year because of all the issues with my foot. Five surgeries and a week in hospital….But I am finally starting to become mobile again and last week I finished Jaelyn’s Christmas stocking. Now 3 out of the 4 stockings in the Birds of a Feather series are done. Unfortunately, the patterns are out of print but if you like these I would look on Ebay, Etsy, and online cross stitch shops who may have copies in stock still.
Jaelyn has been looking worried lately. All the stockings were hanging up except hers and when you are six, and the kind of person who wears all your feelings on the outside, that was a big deal to her. So on friday I finally pulled myself together and finished it. Not that is is hard to do but finishing non-quilt projects is never my favorite. I put a classic Scottish tartan on the back – I think it mixes into this kinda funky-modern-traditional look and I lined the stocking with a bright Kaffe Fassett paisley fabric.
It looks pretty hanging over the fireplace along with all the other hand stitched projects. The two little Santa Elves were made by my aunt several years ago so I can’t take credit for those. And the horrid Disney Princess stocking…it is Kylies. She hates it and I have promised her that her stocking will be done next year.
Merry Christmas everyone!
